“The Preserving and Showcasing Irish Heritage in Quebec Project aims to promote Irish heritage in Quebec through a wide-reaching digital and educational initiatives. We are in the process of creating an interactive map of Irish heritage sites, cemeteries, and cultural organizations. Through engagement with provincial communities of Irish origin, local experts, and individuals of Irish descent, we will explore the rich and diverse history of Irishness in Québec.

Our interactive mapping project, The Irish Mile, will record the unique and arduous journeys taken by Irish emigrants who left their homeland to settle in small towns in Québec. Using a combination of historical documents, photos, and oral interviews, The Irish Mile will connect the stories of historic Irish communities to the lives of their contemporary descendants”
