Irish Heritage Site Map

Irish Heritage Site Map

The Irish Mile  is an interactive map of towns, churches, monuments, cemeteries, trails, and other places that tell the story of early Irish life in Québec.

Built from historical documents, photographs, and oral interviews, The Irish Mile traces the lives of Irish emigrants and the communities they formed—often in small, rural places left out of official histories. Each point on the map marks a place where people stopped walking. Where some stayed, buried their dead, raised families. And where others moved on.

Take a walk along the Irish Mile and explore the towns, churches, cemeteries, and landscapes they left behind.

Please help us! The Irish Mile is a work in progress, and we want your feedback. If you have comments, ideas for more sites, or information about the Irish heritage of sites, please contact us. We would love to hear from you!

The Irish MileTM interactive map of Irish heritage sites is supported by a grant from the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise (SRQEA).
