Join PhD student Victoria Kelly and Samara O’Gorman as they discuss the negotiation of Irish-Canadian identity in the 19th and 20th centuries. They explore multi-wave migration, local vs. transnational influences, and how organizations like the Orange Order and the St. Patrick’s Society shaped this identity.

Since this interview was filmed, Victoria’s paper was awarded the 2026 Canadian Journal of Irish Studies Award at the annual CAIS conference. With her paper set to be published soon, we want to congratulate Victoria on her outstanding contributions to the field of Irish Studies.
