Bloomsday Festival 2025 Academic Morning: Preserving & Showcasing Irish Heritage in Quebec with the Canadian Irish Migration Preservation Network

Co-presented by Samara O’Gorman (Irish Studies Scholar, Author & Researcher) and Katherine Diamond (History Grad Student & Researcher), Preserving and Showcasing Irish Heritage in Quebec is a project by the Canadian Irish Migration Preservation Network (CIMPN) that aims to preserve and promote Irish heritage in Quebec through digital and educational initiatives.

The presentation will focus on the work being done to create an interactive map of Irish sites (monuments, cemeteries, museums, buildings, trails, and historical markers), showcase a directory of local Irish organizations, and offer educational outreach for those who want to learn more about the Irish contributions to Quebec’s history.

The project is financially supported by the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise (SRQEA). This video was recorded live at Bloomsday’s Academic Morning on Friday, June 13th, 2025, by David Murphy (IITS – Cinemas & Events). Special thanks to the School of Irish Studies at Concordia.
